Evaluation - Focus group

What went well:

We worked well as a team and decided on questions and job roles together. We had all the equipment we needed and worked together to set up for our focus group

Each member was given a job role and was introduced by the team leader at the start of the focus group.

It was presented confidently and included all the information we felt necessary to gain the results we needed. At the end of our focus group, we were able to make a conclusion based on the testers answers/opinions.

What went badly:

Even with all the members of the team working on the setting up, It did take quite a long time and we maybe could of thought of a quicker way to set up.

Evaluation - Icon Presentation

What went well:

I felt that this presentation was the toughest as our information had to be found without the use of internet and we would also be presenting individually. Although I thought this was challenging, I enjoyed having to find information in different ways to what I normally would. I also liked that we had the freedom to choose our topic which made it more enjoyable.

I kept the colour scheme simple and stuck to black and white not only because it was simple but because It represents that what I was presenting was something from the past.

When it came to presenting I think it went quite well considering how nervous I was about presenting on my own. I think I spoke quite clearly and presented quite a good amount of information.

What went badly:

I failed to collect any information on my original idea meaning I had to change my idea. This did make me doubt that I'd manage to get enough information on the new topic I selected therefore making me nervous about the presentation.

Evaluation - Disney Presentation

What went well:

For this group presentation, we were put into our groups with people we hadn't necessarily  talked to/worked with much. I don't feel that this effected our team work and we still enjoyed working together.

We each had seperate topics to research giving us equal responsibilty in the group and then worked together to choose the colour schemes and layout of our powerpoint.

I feel that we all found a good amount of information and presented it quite confidently to our class mates.

What went badly:

The amount of information on our powerpoint slides was varied. Some slides had too much information and some had too little. Having too much information may of left the speaker with hardly anything to say that people couldn't already read but having too little would of left the audience uninterested. Knowing this now will help us for future presentations.

Evaluation - Too Much Too Young Podcast

What went well:

We made sure all the members were happy with the topic choice and ultimately worked well as a team. Our overal idea was talking about what the youth of today are exposed to which we then seperated into four seperate topics to give us one thing each to talk about. Although we had our own topics, we all gave each other information/ideas to use.

We also made sure we all had something to do (Two of us edited while the other two made the powerpoint)

When we came to presenting our podcast, we had a technical problem which left us with no powerpoint. We then talked about what was on our powerpoint rather than leaving it unexplained.

What went badly:

For me the actual recording of the podcast didn't go too well because after asking the group, we decided my script was too formal. I tried to rewrite it but didn't finish before having to do the recording. I therefore ended up with a shortened script that was half made up on the spot.

Documentary Treatment.

Treatment

My documentary is based on archive footage that will be playing throughout. The audio from the archive footage will be removed and the videos will then be cut to a nintendocore piece of music that I will be using. The theme used throughout the archive footage is old Vs new which is why the clips go from old 8bit games to the latest high definition games. After the intro which will last an estimated 40 seconds the music will fade and a voice over will play over the footage. I will start by introducing my documentary and giving a brief of what will be included. After this I will talk about the history, budget, graphics, HD, new technologies, online gaming and the gamer chair experience. These categories will be cut down into smaller topics to explain them deeper. When I am finished with the facts that I can provide I will then show some footage of what the public thought of the latest technologies, Nintendo Wii, Playstation move and Xbox kinect. This will be from video reviews found on YouTube along with all my other archive footage. To finish the documentary I will show the credits and include the Youtube channels I got  archive footage from as well as credits for editing. This will be played over an 8bit track from an old racing game called Rally X.
